A FORCE FOR FAIRNESS AT THE NATIONAL TRUST

The National Trust is a great organisation and people rightly feel proud to work for it.

Whether you're a permanent employee, seasonal staff or volunteer, you deserve to be respected and valued. But the Trust is a large, complex organisation with a lot of competing priorities. Workers' needs and interests aren't always at the top of that list.

You're not alone

With over 5,000 staff scattered across the UK, you may work in a small group or with people doing very different jobs. If you have a work-related concern, you may well feel that you're alone. You're not. The chances are that other staff, maybe in other locations, share your concerns - fifty or five hundred staff might feel the same. You're not all the same but fairness is everyone's right.

What do you do if you have a problem at work, are concerned about the grading of your job or workload issues, or have got a positive idea about improving an aspect of your working life? How do you, as an individual, do something about it. That's where we come in.

On your side

Prospect is there to look after your best interests. That's the sole reason for our existence. We:

  • speak up on your behalf
  • negotiate to improve your pay and conditions of service
  • make sure your needs are not overlooked
  • represent you as an individual if you have a problem
  • build a collective voice with your colleagues, and use that collective strength to persuade your employer to change things.

Together we're stronger. Joining Prospect gives you individual protection and support with workplace problems, but it also means joining with your colleagues nationwide, pulling together to gain the respect you deserve from your employer.
